bitumen AC-10

description

Standard Viscosity Grade Bitumen AC , in which the Viscosity of the standard bitumen (asphalt) is measured at 60 degrees C (140 degrees F). It is usually used as a Paving Grade Bitumen suitable for road construction and for the production of asphalt pavements with superior properties. This grade of Bitumen is mainly used in the manufacture of hot mix asphalt for bases and wearing courses, and possesses characteristics and qualities unique sand quite different from other agents. They achieve very flexible and tenacious connections with other materials due mainly to viscoelastic response of bitumen, which behavior depends on how fast charges are applied.
The viscosity grading system is more comprehensive compared to the penetration grading system. Viscosity is the conversion of fluidity. It’s a general concept for the texture of substances. Chemically speaking, viscosity is applied as a consistency measurement. Viscosity test is conducted at 60 c (the maximum pavement temperature). Good to know that the measurement unit of viscosity grading system is Poise. The viscosity grading can be done on both original (as-supplied) asphalt binder which is called AC grading and aged residue binder which is called AR grading. The AC grading is related to absolute viscosity at 60 c in 100 poises.

applications

Viscosity grade bitumen asphalt can be applied on original asphalt which is AC (asphalt cement)grades or aged residue AR(aged residue) grades.
AC grades indicated viscosity at 60 °C actually the number after AC showed 0.01 absolute viscosity in poises at 60 °C. For instance, AC-5 means the bituminous asphalt cement has viscosity of 500 poises at 60°C. The number after AR indicated viscosity in poises at 60 °C. Common viscosity grades asphalt cement are AC-2.5,AC-5,AC-10,AC-20, AC-30,AC-40. AC 10 is a designed bituminous asphalt which is mostly used in hot climate because the viscosity is high.
INTERNATIONAL BITUMEN SUPPLY guarantee to supply the viscosity grade AC 10 in compliance to the mentioned specification in table.
