bitumen VG40

description

Bitumen VG-40 is special formulated bitumen, which is obtained by a technique of physical/chemical modification that alters the chemistry and balance of the bituminous components to a desired optimum. They are formulated to resist both pavement rutting at higher temperatures and thermal shrinkage cracking at lower temperatures. In addition, bitumen VG-40 better withstand fatigue at normal operating temperatures. Bitumen VG-40 combnes the characteristic advantages of softer grades at low temperatures and of harder grades at high temperatures.
Bitumen Grade VG 40 is a standard viscosity grade Bitumen usually used as a paving Bitumen suitable for road construction and for the production of asphalt pavements with superior qualities. This grade of Bitumen is mainly used in the manufacture of hot mix asphalt for bases and wearing courses.

applications

Bitumen VG-40 can be used in various asphalt mix designs and techniques which result in the manufacture of cohesive asphalt mixes suitable for any type of traffic. Bitumen VG-40 increases the stability of the asphalt mix at any temperature and enhances long lasting surface characteristics. Bitumen VG-40 is suitable for heavy traffic road, airport runway and taxiway, container terminals.
Bitumen VG40 is a standard viscosity grade bitumen usually used for heavy duty road construction and highly stressed areas to endure substantial traffic loads and high temperature as per following technical specification. Due to the higher viscosity of VG40,stiffer bitumen mixes can be produced to improve paving resistance to higher temperature and heavy traffic loads.
